Tracy Warner’s journey into fashion design began in her childhood when she spent hours drawing and crafting clothes for her Barbie Dolls. Driven by a desire for more outfits for her dolls, Tracy scoured her surroundings for fabric scraps to create unique dresses. Often visiting the fabric store with her mother, she eagerly purchased materials for her designs. Though Tracy considered this a hobby, her mother and grandmother recognized her talent early on. At the age of 12, she showed her mother a sketch of a black strapless, form-fitting dress, seeking her opinion. Her mother encouraged her, stating that if Tracy dedicated herself, she could become a fashion designer. This moment ignited a passion within Tracy that has continued to burn brightly.
During high school, Tracy expanded her knowledge by taking illustration and photography classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1990. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in June 1992 and was accepted into Pratt Institute, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design. Tracy’s first significant opportunity came when she was selected to participate in the Master/Apprenticeship program run by the Wellman Group in December 1995. This organization initiated a project promoting Eco-spun fabrics made from recycled plastic bottles. Tracy was thrilled to learn that she would apprentice under renowned fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger. Together, they collaborated to design two men's outerwear looks that were showcased at a runway show during New York Fashion Week in February 1996.
Tracy’s resume boasts 15 years of experience with prestigious brands such as Brooks Brothers, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger USA, Victoria’s Secret Pink, Chaps Ralph Lauren, Perry Ellis, Phillip Van Heusen, and Liz Claiborne, among others. While honing her skills at these leading fashion houses, she began creating custom-designed apparel for private clientele. She gained recognition for her stunning evening wear gowns for high school students preparing for their senior prom. What started as a hobby evolved into a thriving business for Tracy. Although she advanced in technical design and production roles, Tracy yearned for more than just employment. Her dream of launching her own clothing line became a reality when she founded Theophany Clothing Company in 2004.
Theophany not only provides meticulously tailored apparel to her clients but also ensures each receives her undivided attention. Tracy is now an emerging fashion designer with a distinct sense of style, poised to make her mark in the fashion industry as a rising talent.
